Every so often (it used to be held annually but now it’s not so regular), the MPA hosts an underwater Splash In! photography competition. It’s held over a weekend during the summer and although it’s primarily aimed at divers, shots taken in rockpools and by snorkelling are also welcome. There are rules (of course), the main ones being that all photographs have to be taken within the MPA; they must be taken during the weekend in question; and that judging will be done at the end of the competition by the competitors themselves. Prizes are on hand for the winners of each of the subject categories, of which there are usually six.
