'Incident & Accident' cards

Throughout the website you’ll come across the cards which are part of the MPA Board Game, created by Robert Irving for the Marine Festival in 2022. The cards feature snippets of the history of the MPA since its earliest beginnings in the form of incidents which have been reported to the Advisory Group over the years, and unavoidable accidents which have happened.

The topics are divided into five categories: Fisheries, Marine Archaeology, Marine Nature Conservation, MPA Management, and ‘Unforeseen Disaster!’. These snippets are all based on actual ‘incidents and accidents’ which occurred during the year stated on the card. Together they provide an indication of the sorts of happenings which may take place on any day within the MPA, and thereby give an indication of the range of situations which all have to be managed in one way or another.
